There is a wonderful pattern throughout the Bible of sacrifice and offerings being brought and then the people of God taking the promises of God, especially the land. In Egypt, after the sacrifice of the passover lamb the children of Israel moved from being slaves in a foreign land - or having
landlords- to entering into their own land "flowing with milk and honey."

Abraham was promised in Genesis 13 that he would inherit all the land his eyes could see, however this did not take place until after he had offered up Isaac on the altar.

Gideon saw the Midianites and the Amalekites come in year after year to devour  and impoverish the nation of Israel.
But after he brought a sacrifice to God, the Spirit of the Lord came upon him mightily and he brought Israel out of bondage so that they could dwell in the land that God had given them.

Sacrifice precedes territory being taken by the people of God. In fact it was God's sacrifice of His only Son on the cross that brought us into His promises and redeemed the 'spiritual territory' lost by Adam. The time is NOW for us to bring our sacrificial offerings to the Lord and take the ground that God has set aside for us to inherit! We can all participate by prayerfully setting aside a sacrificial amount and in doing so, SEIZE THE FUTURE! The future belongs to those who are willing to pay the price for it.

Please join with Leanne and I as we embark on this next step of our journey - the securing of our own property. Together we can build a magnificent house of worship to bring God glory throughout San Diego and the nations of the earth!

Love,

Pastors Jurgen and Leanne

We have a vision to build a great church that impacts the city and influences the
nations. A church that builds families, empowers people and saves souls! A church that is fresh, real and powerful, and excellent in every area! It takes everybody getting involved to see this vision come to pass!

We are asking all those who call Christian City Church home to pray and ask God what they should give, over and above their tithes, to see us in a permanent facility. This will be done in the form of faith goals which will be fulfilled by May 31st, 2009. The aim of the 2008 Rise & Build campaign is to raise $1.5 million.

We have a vision to see a group of 100 people or more committed to a yearly faith goal of $10,000 or greater. There are many people who God has anointed for business to bring great finance into His house. We invite you to step into this significant call God has for you...to sacrificially give to the cause of building the church!

Our vision is for EVERYBODY to be involved in Rise and Build, from the Kingdom 100 to the kids! Getting our kids involved in sacrificially giving to the house of God will set them up for a lifetime of blessing and a great understanding of building the church!

All of the kids will be given a Rise and Build piggy bank and will be given the opportunity to bring their offerings to kids church throughout the year.

Last year Ps Jurgen asked everyone to pray about giving to Rise and Build. At that time I was going through a painful divorce, I was unemployed, but had been actively looking for work for more than a year and was growing ever more anxious about how I was going to survive. It's just like God to allow circumstances to test my faith! I felt like I should give $3000 and I quickly said, "Ok, WE can do this!" I was immediately challenged to give the same amount to my mothers ministry. Of course, I flipped my wig (figuratively speaking)..."God, that's a total of $6000, You know I don't have a job, how can I give this much, oh Jesus!"

I came to myself, accepted the challenge and within three weeks received a job that not only allowed me to pay my vow before the end of 2006, but I work from home and have all the flexibility in the world to travel and relax in between. As of January my salary has increased, I was blessed with an amazing car, and I'm currently in the process of buying my own home! The greatest part of this testimony is still yet to come! GOD GIVES SEED TO THE SOWER!

A few weeks ago a boy who comes to Kidz Church brought in his Rise and Build money which he has been saving up like many of our other children.

We talk with our kids each Sunday about how they can be a part of God's house and give to the Lord. Each child received a little piggy bank in kids church so they could contribute to Rise and build, and many of our children are excited and dreaming up what they want in our new church facilities.

This boy has really grasped the vision behind building the house of God and has since passionately pursued raising money so he can sow it into Gods house.

He has now bought in at least 2 bags of money to put in the offering and when I asked him how he raised money for rise and build, he told me that he does extra chores around the house- quite incredible for a 6 year old!!!!

As I opened this offering, to my surprise I pulled wad of bills and an even bigger bundle of coins! The contents of the bag amazed me as I counted it up. How many adults have not even given like this child has?? After much time counting what felt like thousands of coins what was in that bag was $113.28 !!!

This from a child, a 6 year old child!!!.

What an incredible offering indeed. The vision he has caught for Gods house is remarkable and literally bought tears to my eyes. How incredibly blessed will this child be as he grows, he's caught hold of something so many adults are yet to catch...the power of giving!

What is the goal?
The goal for 2008 is the securing of our own property. We are currently looking at land to purchase right here in san diego where we will be able to build a great building! You can participate by prayerfully setting aside a sacrificial amount and in doing so, SEIZE THE FUTURE!

How do I determine how God wants me to participate?
We encourage you to prayerfully seek God with all your heart to determine what He wants to do through you during this campign. When He answers, commit to trustingand obeying Him, then follwo through on that commitment. God wants to bless us through our giving and participation in building His house. Don't miss this opportunity!

How does my faith goal affect my tithe?
It doesn't! Faith goals are an offering above your normal ten percent. Tithes are allocated for the day-to-day running operations of the church, offerings are gifts over and above our tithes.

When do I make my faith goal?
We are having our special church celebration on May 18th where everybody will fill in their faith goal cards, but you can fill out the faith goal form anytime! Just keep in mind that the 2008 faith goals end on May 31st, 2009.
