Thank you for your interest in premarital guidance. This is a special season in your life and we consider it a privilege to be asked to contribute to your relationship. Our goal in providing premarital guidance is to equip you for success in your married life.

Pre-requisites
    1) Attending Christian City Church
    2) Dating a minimum of 3-6 months, preferably 6
    3) Engaged (or decision made to get engaged)
    4) Both partners have filled out and submitted the Premarital Guidance form
    5) Approval given by Pastoral Staff

Commitment
Course must be a priority
     - A desire to benefit from the mentorship, not just a check-off so that you can get married in the church
     - Completing assignments individually
     - Discussing assignments as a couple
     - Praying about the relationship, both individually and as a couple

Materials
    1) Text - “Preparing For Marriage” by Dennis Rainey
    2) Required Reading – “His Needs, Her Needs” by Willard F. Harley
    3) Required Reading – ”Sheet Music” by Kevin Leman
    4) Suggested Reading – “Getting Your Sex Life Off to a Great Start” by Penner, “Taking Charge of Your Fertility” by Toni Weschler, MPH and “The Five                   Love Languages” by Dr. Gary Chapman           

Fees and Process to Get Started
    1) All requests are filtered through the church office through the Pastoral Care Ministry
       a. Pastoral Care approves the couple
       b. Pastoral Care coordinator gives contact information to the mentor couple
       c. Mentor couple contacts couple & sets up the schedule
    2) Fee $200 per couple, payable to CCC
       a. Bring to first meeting
       b. Covers required reading materials
       c. Covers all required expenses for the contents of the course
    3) Meetings conducted in mentors’ homes, one-on-one
    4) Schedule – 7 meetings over 13 weeks
       a. Week 1 Dinner/Interview (2 hours)
       b. Week 3 God’s Purpose for Marriage, Personal History Worksheet, Purity Covenant (1 hour)
       c. Week 5 God’s Plan for Marriage, Parental Wisdom Project (1 hour)
       d. Week 7 Authentic Communication, Great Expectations (1 hour)
       e. Week 9 Roles & Responsibilities, Evaluating Your Relationship (1 hour)
       f. Week 11 Money, Decision Making Guide (1 hour)
       g. Week 13 Intimacy: Sexual Communication in Marriage (1 hour)
